In fact, the Caribbean region includes 30 countries: some of them are on the brink of survival, others have a very high standard of living. In general, local prices cannot be called low. But, for example, a trip to the Bahamas or the Dominican Republic will cost more than to Jamaica, Cuba or Haiti. Geographically, the term “Caribbean” includes the Caribbean Sea, and all islands located southeast of the Gulf of Mexico, east of Central America and Mexico, and north of South America.
Although the Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands are not part of the Caribbean, they have nevertheless been included in this section because of their cultural, geographic, and political ties with the Caribbean.

In total, there are over 7,000 islands in the Caribbean (including rocky islets, small coral and sand islands, and coral reefs).
